Light is good - add the sensor lights (sure they're battery powered but they last a long time). IMPORTANT - first time users of bifocal lens will have a hard time with depth perception, especially related to descending stairs; this coupled with decreased muscle/balance is a big RED FLAG area.

When you talk about the hazards of descending stairs for senior, you should mention eye glasses. If you wear bifocals or transition lenses, looking down can cause your perception to be thrown off.

I can no longer go safely down stairs forwards. I have to go down backwards with both arms holding the railing. Thankfully, I don't have eyes in back of my head, otherwise I would be terrified.
